I was responding to another thread and was searching the net for information to use.
I happened on Motor Trends web site and according to them, my '06 Monte is only worth $12,450 trade in value.
I owe more then that on the car right now and I've never missed a payment or paid late.
This sucks!!!!!

our cars are priceless to us. That's what matters. Who cares what we can sell it for? I don't plan on selling mine.
I understand that you guys can get upset owing more on the car than it is worth, but as long as you don't get into an accident and love the car, what should it matter? You were willing to make those payments from the start because you fell in love with the car, why should that change now that a few numbers have.

That's the way financing works. The bank is going to get their money first, hence, you pay the interest up front. And if you think you're deal sucks, I have an '07 Ford F-150 Lariat Supercrew, fully loaded, thatI bought in July of '07. It stickered at $36,600. I drove it out for $33,000 and financed $30,000. I now owe $23,500 ( I think these numbers are close, I'm doing this off the top of my head and the memory ain't what it used to be). It has 37,000 miles on it. Because of the economy right now, you can buy this same truckas a new '08 and get it for around $26,000. It's a good thing I love my truck, cuz I'm stuck with it.

I am in the same boat. I am trying to sell my Mini Cooper outright because trade in value is totally ridiculous at the moment. The best I can get trade in value is 14-15k. And Mini Cooper S is ranked one of the top cars that keep it’s value. It is a highly optioned car that stickered for 28500k and it has very low miles [:@]

I was going to post GOOD thing I didn't pay full price on the car. Cause I'd still owe like $23,000 and it's only worth $12,450.

Not sure I ever mentioned this? But about 2 weeks ago I got a flier from the Chevy dealer I got my '06 Monte at.
They want to buy my '06 Monte back from me.
But only so I'll buy a NEW car from them.
No thanks. I'll keep my 2006 Monte Carlo LTZ. [sm=icon_cheers.gif]
