Hi all - I haven't been here this much cause I'm super busy at work - working at least 10 hr days non stop (meaning I don't take a lunch break) and since I'm on salary I ain't getting paid for it either. I think I made a big mistake taking this job - but I guess it beats unemployment. I guess my job hunt isn't over.....
Once again, I feel the need to apologize for not being around much. The battle with my wife's leukemia has kept me busier than I'd like. Also, a not so good update for those of you following our ordeal:
My wife was transported via ambulance from our home to the hospital yesterday. Her blood counts are way down again (as they always are after chemotherapy). She blacked out and fell down. Her eyes were open but she was unresponsive and couldn't answer me, even though I was touching her shoulders and face. I called 911. I seriously thought I was going to lose her right there, luckily the unresponsiveness only lasted 30 seconds or so. Definitely long enough to scare me. She has no recollection of me screaming at her to to talk to me, so she was definitely out of it. She's at the hospital in a lot of pain. She must be bruised severely, everywhere. They are taking an x-ray of her shoulder tonight, as it hurts the most. We were so lucky, where she collapsed her head was only inches from colliding with the hard porcelain toilet. Also her port where they administer chemotherapy and draw blood is infected again. They will be removing it. She completed her last treatment about 2 weeks ago, so she can definitely live without it. She just needs to recover from all this and there will be no more chemo (a necessary evil) to wipe her out. She will likely have another bone marrow biopsy around the beginning of December to verify she is still in remission. The nurses say they would see signs of a return in her bloodwork, but one must perform this test to be thorough and know for sure. I believe that's all for now. Thanks to all of you who pray or simply just think about me and my family now and then.
On a Monte Carlo related note, I haven't driven the Pace Car in over 3 weeks. She's finally getting a well deserved rest, after all the miles I put on her this year taking my wife back and forth to Pittsburgh for chemotherapy and related leukemia appointments.

Also, I went to Penn State. I am seriously concerned I may not be hired by some employers when they see that on my resume and/or job applications. I hope that doesn't sound selfish, but my life hasn't been the greatest either over the last year.
Kerry, we're still keeping you and your wife in our prayers. My daughter started new chemotherapy drugs last week and has been asleep or in bed since. Today she gets another treatment. This has been the worst ordeal our family has ever gone through. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers too. I don't see how we can take much more after two years of this.

what a totally f'd up scene there.....
What the hell is this world coming to?
