Good morning MCF!!
Got the 84 back home last night. It really has me and a bunch of people puzzled.
The details are over on this thread -->https://montecarloforum.com/forum/mo...wer-wot-52872/
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I really want to take it to the track tonight and see what it will do because it had more power last night on the way home than I remember it having and it is only running on 7 cylinders. BUT, I know it is not right and don't want it to start shooting parts up through my hood or anything..LOL
OK I have an idea...we should have a MCF gathering here at my place as I have a huge parking lot in front of my place. So everyone bring your tools and knowledge and help me figure out my Monte issue!!! LOL
Anyway, hope everyone has a good day!!

Space- Thoughts and prayers. Get well and come back soon!!

I had that problem on an '83 SS. I replaced Intake Manifold gaskets & the large Carb gasket & It ran so much better & at WOT !! It was because I wasn't losing vacuum...

Good Morning Gang! I hope all is well. Good luck with your car Barbara.

My 97 GMC truck with the 5.7 liter finally puked the motor last night. 369,933 miles on it. It started blowing water out the exhaust almost fast as you can put it in. It has been a good truck, maybe I can find a used engine to put back in. The problem is probably a blown head gasket, but I can't see doing a head job and not going through the bottom end since it has that many miles on it. What do yall think?

Good Morning Everyone!

For 370K on your truck, that is impressive! I would agree, no sense in replacing just the head gasket with that many miles on it. It's due for a complete rebuild or new/ used engine.
