Morning Friends. working from home today.

Have to take Ronda to a surgeon here in town. She has a spur on her pinching a nerve. May need surgery to remove it. Not suppose to be a complicated procedure. this visit is just a consultation.

Good morning everyone! I'm only 1 of a handful here at work. I guess everyone is afraid to drive their SUVs in the snow

It was quite chilly this morning when I was getting ready!

Morning everyone! Looking at the new Camaro specks just getting jealous. 323hp out of a N/A 3.6L V6. What has happened in the last 12 years to make an engine so efficient. I dont think we could make that kind of power without some kind forced induction. Im a little sad out monte's got stuck in the past and never got the respect they deserve that the cammaro, challenger and mustang are now getting. Of course 2015 may change my mind cause I dont like alot of what im seeing for concept cars.

It's really a good engine too! I thoroughly enjoy the powerband and everything about it. It's supposed to be an extremely stout engine, the LFX fixed the timing chain issues that the LLT had.

What happened? Simple, our Montes are based on a very very old premise of OHV (over-head valve) and 1 camshaft. The Camaro is a Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC) with high compression.

It's not as torquey as our 3800s, but when you rev it safely up to 7000RPMs it's a lot of fun

I love the torqueyness of this engine. Right of the bat you feel it. My brother has a CTS and while it is technically faster I dont feel the contact with the pavement the way i do in the monte. Everyone myself included wants a V8's rwd monte, but I can appreciate the spunkyness of this thing pulling through a corner or a slide. I didn't realize it was DOHC, I know the 7.0 is OHV, I feel like the DOHC's tend to make higher horse power but the OHV styles tend to have more torque off the bat. I guess the 3800 designers traded off some HP for torque and reliability. I have yet to drive one of the new cammaro's but a guy can dream...
