Visitng a true Haunted place...

I don't believe in haunted places. However I do enjoy the history and the imagination behind it. I've toured the Mansfield Reformatory which was a prison since the early 1800's and is supposedly haunted from all the prisoners that died there, I guess they use to do some pretty horrific things to the people there. It has a really neat history, and housed a lot of prisoners of war from the civil war. I highly recommend checking it out for the history and architecture. Also some movies have been filmed there, like Shawshank Redemption. They also do overnight ghost hunts if your into that.

I read about the history of that house. Pretty brutal murders. Hard to believe someone was able to go from room to room with an axe and lantern caving in heads and nobody woke up. You would think the floors would be creaky, doors would be creaky, chopping someone in the head with an axe on an old spring bed would be fairly loud.
I guess a bedside firearm wouldn't have done much good. And wow, they think whoever it was hid in a closet in the house all evening until the family fell asleep, that is pretty psychotic and planned well in advance. They must have known the habits of the father to lock the front door only in the evening.
