Default Vintage Audio

Anyone into Vintage Audio? Its my second love.
My rig is a
Sansui G-8000 120 watt per channel
BSR EQ-3000
Pioneer PL-570 turntable with wooden plith Orfono cart
Pioneer Rt-707 reel to reel
Pioneer CT-F 950 cass x2
Sansui TU-9900 Tuner
Tascam CD 450mk2 pro cd
Tascam 401 mk pro cd
80gb IPod 5th gen
And now, the sound !
2 Altec Model 19 front speakers
2 Pioneer HPM 100 (100w) rears with
JBL 4311

The highest I can reasonably turn it up is to 4-5 wRMS, pk 65 @ 118 db
That is EXTREAMLY loud my sons buddy's father has a 1200 watt system and thought it was the loudest and baddest system he ever heard, until now... He heard mine for the first time and thought I was kidding about the 3-4 watts and how loud it was. I explained to him the differance between today's Black Plastic boxes and now he went out and got a real stereo system that blows mine away.. I love the sound of GREAT music, any kind, except RAP, NOT SURE IF I CAN SAY THAT'S EXACTLY MUSIC. more like talking to a scratching record...lol.. Anyone else have some sweet vintage gear? Mine is not even top of the line, more like mid road stuff, but it will dust anything made for Best buy n stuff like that. Don't get me wrong. They still make a version of my big speakers call Altec A7 VOTTS (voice of the theater) that cost over $6000 each ! And if you get some real good speakers that are made of the quaility of mine you are litterly up in the $12-15,000 EACH ! Can you image spending over $30,000 just for the speakers, that's just 2 ! It can get insane out there but I like to stick to my mid level 1970s Powerhouse system . Thanks.. Just ranting and wasting time..lol... Ty... Mjc..

That looks like an outstanding system. I had a couple different butt kick systems back in the 70s/80s but those components are long gone now.

I still have a turntable set up, did finally take out my dual cassette deck though. I tried to find my Pioneer 8-track but it has disappeared. We like to go old school and play vinyl, heck I still have a stack of 45's. Have a JVC reciever, and two big tower Fisher speakers. I did have 4 but wife made me sell them. Said we didn't need 4. So now, I haev 4 again but the other two aren't quite like my Fishers.
