Looks like a grown-up pt cruiser. Gross.. If chevy had to bring back any retro look it should have been something like a nomad for a wagon..

I've never liked the HHR. The front end of the one pictured in your link reminds me of the front end of a F ord pickup. Therest looks like a blatant rip off of the PT Cruiser.

Can this thread be turned into a poll? Who likes the HHR, and who doesn't?

I think that GM - Chevrolet - has mis-used the SS Emblems
on vehicles that are not deserving the SS identification.
That said,I like what they have done to the HHR with it's retro theme.
A 260+HP Tubro four : ) with 18teens : )
I'd like to drive one to see how it performs/handles etc.
I like it better then the PT Cruiser. I see a lot of them driven by
retired people here in Florida, but I've seen some lowered, customs
cruz'in the Beach with some awesome sounds systems.

WoW, it's got a Turbo
Good Luck GM
Peace Out

I'm not a fan of the HHR. But I'm not one for the PT Cruisers either.

Thurday evening at a cruise-in the guy I bought the 350/350 turbo off of for my newest '57 project stopped to talk. He mentioned he'd found pics of the recent Rebel Run in Lima, OH and that my 150 Wagon was posted on this site.

I thought he said it was HotRod.com? But it can't be cause that's Hot Rod magazine's web site. While surfing through the siteI found this............

It started life as an HHR.

It can end life as far as I'm concerned!!!!!

I agree. GM mis-used the SS and the GT names as far as I'm concerned. A glorified base model with 5 extra horsepower equals "GT version". Hence the need for GTP, GTX, and so on. GM needs to be more strict when handing out the SS badges.

I'm glad the HHR's are selling in Florida, because here in southern Ontario the dealerships can't even give the things away. Most dealerships don't have an HHR on the lot. The few that do, have one inside the showroom and that's it. I have yet to see my first HHR being driven on a public street.

The real kick in the pants is... years from now, long after GM dumps the HHR, they'll be worth a fortune because of how rare they are.
The lesson is...buy one now, and hide it from view until it's worth at least a hundred grand!

I think Chevy has definately overused the SS nameplate, but it's not alone in that respect. Look at some of the junk Chrysler has badged as an R/T in recent years. And,the execs at Lincoln have completely lost their minds - MKX, MKZ, Mark LT!?! Heads hopefully rolled over that mess. Does anyone remember the 170 hp SVT Focus from just a few years ago? Unbelievable.

I think the HHR is OK for what it is, but to stick an SS badge onit is just plain silly. Personally, I think the top execs at GM, Ford and Chrysler have all lost their minds for some reason...there simply is no other explanation fortheir nitwittery. And they wonder why they're going bankrupt?
