Hey everyone,

Feels like forever since I logged on. My life got really exciting for a while. Had almost no time for little things like keeping up with the MCF. Life is settling down finally, though with a new job. The new job will keep me LOTS busier than before, so I won't be on as much as in the past.

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. I sure did. Fun / sun / eating / drinking with good friends. Couldn't ask for better.

Hi everyone. Hope those of us that celebrated Memorial Day had a good day yesterday.

My day went like:
Push mowed for my parents for 2 hrs.
Borrowed dad's truck. Picked up Debbie and went dryer shopping. Her dryer burned out more then 6 months ago. We go to HH Greggs, Home Depot, and Sears. She decides on the Kenmore at sears so we pay for it, get it loaded and head for home.

While I'm getting ready to carry the new dryer down the basement steps Debbie get's the grille ready fo a cookout.

I'm unpacking the new dryer. The cardboard flap on the box snaps back and all but tears the nail off my ring finger of my right hand. Debbie goes for neosporin and bandaides. Blood is now dripping off my finger. Debbie puts 2 bandaides on my finger to keep blood off my dad's truck and the new dryer. We get the dryer in the back porch and attempt to get it down the narrow basement steps. It won't fit so we have to somehow get it back up to the landing and reposition it. I have to get under the dryer and lift with it on my back. So a second attempt we get the dryer down the steps and in the basement.

While I set about hooking the new dryer up (did you know when you buy a new dryer you do NOT get a cord with it? You have to buy one) I used the cord off the old dryer and get the new dryer running. Debbie is preparing the food to cook on the grille. Then I realize we were support to install the 4 rubber feet on the new dryer BEFORE..... I hooked it up. So I set about getting the new feet on the bottom.

After I get the new dryer setting level, running, the vent tube back on. I then get to replace a damaged light fixture in the basment and get the @#$%^ shocked out of me. Cause even with the light switch off one of the wires is still hot.

All the stuff in the basement is done. The food is close to be being doen, I washed up and changed out of the sweaty cloths.

Debbie mentions she wants to try the new canopy we bought a couple weeks ago. So I set up the new lawn chairs we brought and we both set the canopy up. It was nice setting outside eating and enjoying what was left of the day.

Now. To get my finger healed up.

 

I know I know... I've missed my MCF friends. Good to be back.

 

Finally got my day in at work. Hard day after 3 off. Now to sweep my pool. It is finnaly clearing up. Just cloudy water but looking better today and 7 degrees warmer than Sunday. Now at 82. Getting close.

Night all, long drive home from class in torrential rains. Lots of hydroplaning. I am off to sleep as the dogs will be waking me up in 5 hours for breakfast. ugh.
