Got the blog started again.

I have a very heavy heart tonight. Moore, OK is not too far from my hometown. And Oklahoma is my home state. I was watching everything unfold on the radar. The radar already showed a "debris ball" (as we call it in the weather and storm chasing community where the debris shows up on Doppler radar) even while it was in rural areas before it actually hit Moore. I knew at that point that it was going to be bad, on par with 99 (I remember that outbreak like it was yesterday as I was still living in Oklahoma at the time).

Thankfully my family is all ok. It did not impact their towns. But I wish I was out there where I could help with the recovery efforts.

Everyone please say a prayer for everyone affected by the storms of the last two days (Shawnee was impacted Sunday among other small towns wiped off the map).

Anyway, y'all have a good one.

Also have family in Oklahoma, as a matter of fact in OKC itself. Thankfully they are OK house has some roof damage but still very livable, especially in comparison! Thoughts and prayers to all those affected.

Morning all.

As stated in yesterdays blog and the above posts by others, Moore OK got hit by a high end EF4, perhaps even a EF5 tornado yesterday.

Oklahoma tornado 2013 in Moore, Oklahoma, near Oklahoma City kills dozens; tornadoes in Oklahoma hit within 24 hours | abc7chicago.com

This same town got hit by a Power F5 tornado back in 1999 which destroyed 85 percent of the city.
The 99 one had windspeeds of 318 MPH, the highest record windspeed on earth to this date.
That Tornado was a mile wide.

Yesterday 51 people (and counting), including 7 children in a elementary school were killed.
This tornado at times reached 2 miles wide!
Thoughts go out to those in Oklahoma.
The city of Moore was damaged by significant tornadoes on October 4, 1998, May 3, 1999, May 8, 2003, May 10, 2010, and May 20, 2013.

Bad News:

Today is another very Severe weather threat with more Large Damaging Tornadoes.
This will be in Northeast Texas/Northwest Louisiana/Arkansas.
BE careful.

Also:
A Tornado threat also is in for today for all of Michigan/Central New York.

Everyone be careful today and really check the weather as much as you can to make sure it's safe.
These storms can fire up at ANY time, meaning it could be sunny one minute and then it will hit the next.

Tomorrow also holds a big time Severe threat Mainly to the northeast states of PA and upstate NY but i will talk about that tomrorow morning.

For those who don't know the EF scale:

Although these days the amount of damage done also comes into what the rating is.

The EF scale goes from 0 to 5, with 5 being the strongest. An EF0 causes visual damage - downed trees, shingle damage. An EF1 will cause damage to a roof, porch, and/or carport. An EF2 will shift a house off it's foundation. An EF3 will knock down exterior parts of most buildings. An EF4 destroys most structures and an EF5 will completely level most structures.

good morning everyone!
Got a detail today! A customer from work I gave a card to called yesterday, needs a detail on their boat before its put in the water. He said its almost brand new (2 years old) so not much work is needed. Going to be polishing up the aluminum along with it.

Dang those tornado's just keep coming...I wish for safety to our monte friends out there!

Morning everyone.

Watched the Red Wings go up 2 games to 1 over the Blackhawks last night!

We're suppose to be right in the middle of those storms later today.

The car's outdoor temp reading reached 94 on my way home from work yesterday. Not as hot today but still warm. Michigan had a line of storms move through yesterday afternoon/evening but those were all to the North of here. I heard on the radio (Northern MI station) yesterday that Traverse City got quarter size hail and an area in Antrim County got 1.5" of rain in 10 minutes.

Up to 91 dead now in Moore.

The roar of this tornado is unbelievable.

This was a HUGE tornado.

Morning everyone. I was watching the Fox news channel when I thought about our weather . I turned the channel to the weather channel at 3:10 pm. I was glued to it till around 7 pm last night. I mean its sad to see all that damage going on. But when you hear about kids being hurt & worst. It really makes you hurt and sick inside. I can't understand why they still live there. I'd be gone the 1st time it hit. I mean isn't it the Tornado Capital of the world??? Why stay and put your family thru that every year. We travel thru Ok city 2 twice a yr. Going to & from AZ. So I know the area. But its so damn SAD to see that. SGT & JOAF hope your family & friends are ok down there! OUR thoughts & prayers go out to you.
