Hi Sarge `Drew,
I do payroll & scheduling, and projections on future shipment times of arriving trucks. Wait for and enter order confirmations. Do inventory & shipments orders. Review all orders and contact distributors for supplies...+ try to get on the MCF...Work keeps getting in the way on many days
I prefer working in the warehouse & helping the employee's. I work with a great group of employee's. We do our best to make work fun.
Since I've been night manager our loses are 0% (some defect packing loses, but they or not our loss, but the shipper's). I also have a SuperSuper Boss/Owner!
I hope I answered your ?'s..
Peace/Happiness to `all from `Space

Thank you for answering my curious questions Space. When I came off Active Duty, I was hoping to get a job dealing with that type of logistics (since it's similar to my primary MOS in the Army). But that was not part of the greater plan and that's part of why I'm at where I'm at now.

Most of my coworkers on my line are pretty cool and fun to work with, and I may be getting an opportunity for a team lead position. My supervisor came to me two nights ago and mentioned they were creating two more team lead positions (I'd already heard a rumor about it) and asked if I was going to put in for them. Naturally I told him yes and he then kinda surprised me. He looked relieved and told me "Good, you need to." I know I've stepped on my fair share of toes (including his, the team leader's, and the shift superintendent's) in order to get things done, and stepping on people's toes tends to be frowned upon there (which drives me nuts). So the fact that my higher ups (the shift superintendent did as well) have come to me asking me to apply for team lead comes as a pleasant surprise. They obviously have a ton of confidence in my abilities. So wish me luck when they do officially post the opening.

Thank you for the well wishes! After getting my new lease on life, I have worked that much harder to get where I want to be. I knew my work would get me in the right direction in the Army, just wasn't sure how much it would help me with my civilian job. Many in the civilian world are too thin skinned to tolerate that. But then again, JCI employes a LOT of prior service military and my shift superintendent is prior service Army himself. I may step on people's toes, but I am fair and impartial with that and I get results. Hopefully that leads to me moving up where I work. We shall see. If I do get to the interview stage, I plan to show the interview panel the NCO creed and explain to them that it is how I live my life and how I work, lead, and follow.

Lou, good luck on the house! I'm still a ways out from buying one of my own but I hope it turns out to be a great deal for you.
