Morning all, space good luck on your travels. Im currently at the garage with the 97. It started knocking again on the way here as the engine warmed up. Be interesting to see what's going on.

Its not oil pressure was fine, its a bottom end knock. So presumably a rod or bearing is done.

If you want too keep driving it till it dies put some thicker oil in it (like a 10 or 15) or try motor honey. It will eat up some of that space and reduce the knock for awhile. Keep it drivable for a little longer.

I put a bottle of rislone in but that didnt make a difference.

Do you use 5w30 ot 10w30 for the regular oil?
