I love the photos - that's totally awesome. But video made 55 seem slower then I thought it was. That takes the epicness out. I know you probably weren't supposed to pass, but with the lead so close within reach, I woulda dusted the front 2 coming to the line on the last lap. Whatta they gonna do, kick you out? I'm sure there'd be hell to pay if you shredded the pavement in Victory lane, but the start finish line didn't look that fresh.

Oh, and thanks for the good close up of the bird **** on the windshield at the end if the video!

I was thinking the exact same thing Brent. That Torino was just begging to be run flat out. Kinda sounded like he was barely touching the gas doing the 50-60 on the track.

I would've been so tempted to just floor it on the last lap, and have the pace car chase you. That would've made for an epic youtube video with the pace car's flashing lights going. High speed police chase on the Richmond race track. I don't think your mom would've liked it from the passenger seat. But it sure would've been fun.

Bojangles is working its way up to being the official fast food breakfast restaurant of the MCF.

Martinsville, Charlotte, and Richmond all felt faster when you were actually behind the wheel. In the group with us was a Mustang Cobra and a Corvette Z06, and those guys actually paid another $20 to go out and run 5 more laps!! It really feels fast when you drive them like I do... run from the bottom to the to coming off the corner.... most peole run the center more than I do. I like to run the racing line... and it feels so much faster in hte car when you're doing it. My mom was holding on to the door at one point and was borderline scared. Feels fast... then you watch your video and think "Well I wasn't really going fast at all...."

And once I got the engine going, I was basically just bumping the throttle toget going through the corners nad holding it a little bit down the straightaways... I was on the throttle a little bit at Charlotte.

The point of htese things is just to say you did it... .not necessarily run at the bring of control.

Default fun

Duane, that looked like lots of fun. Richmond is my favorite track that they race on. David Pearson would have been proud and the Wood Brothers as well...

They would have all been proud, me hopes....

Pearson drove for John Holman and Ralph Moody of the Holman-Moody team in '68. The spring '68 race was the last one on the dirt race track at Richmond... it was paved over the summer. Pearson won the spring '69 race as well, the second race on the paved Richmond.

If only that car was blue and gold....
