Morning All,

Busy day grinding through paperwork at the office today.

Have to install new headlights in my son's old car after work today. Next project is figuring out how to make the horn work again in that car. Previous owner installed an aftermarket steering wheel, but there appears to be no wiring in the steering column for the horn. Plus the horn button is broken. So I'm looking at installing a new horn circuit w/button mounted on the dash somewhere. Fun fun fun...

Yeah, The weather is weird here in KC area as well. Been in the 90's, Today mid 80's with matbe some rain. Hotter than normal. ( Normal now-a-days -- LOL, what's that! )

good day all,

I am going to tighten my old lugs for my trip home for work tomorrow and am looking for new chrome ones to put on the car, old ones had covers and aren't shiny like the wheels, that and 4 wheel locks. Also looking at getting a floor jack and a hardstand or two to make lifting the car much easier as the jack in the car takes to much time.Any recommendations for a good budget jack?

Cheers,

Joe

Just try to get a low-profile jack that can support 3 tons and you should be fine

Could easily get one for probably around $100-$150, and you might as well get 4 jack stands if you rotate your own tires.

'Budget' is a relative term. After using a cheap (about $30) 2-ton jack from an auto parts store for years, I spent about $80 for a MUCH better low profile 2-ton version from Harbor Freight. I absolutely love the new jack. Much sturdier, safer, easier to use, well worth the extra money. And that's still cheap relative to more professional versions in the hundreds of $.
