Yeah too bad the fine folks at walmart assembled the bike all wrong......wrapped the brake cables the wrong way which put too much pressure on the cable ends when you turned the handle bars, I managed to fix most of them, but the rear brake transfer cable ended up fraying so bad I had to take it to the local cyclery shop and get a tune-up....56.99

so my 180 dollar bike is effectively a 240 dollar bike lol

Hi `Aaron, that's sad, but one must consider the source (Walmart Employee's)...They only hire people like me that don't know what the heck they are doing 4-Sure....
Did you try to take it back to Walmart ? or you decided against that...
I hope that you got it repaired...It's always a wise investment to go to the professionals...Wish you safe & fun riding.....
Do you like the shifter & the gears...How do you rate the bike overall ?
Thanks for your update...
======================
p.s. Good Morning`Mel..
Happy Day 2 U & yours !

Well since i had already tampered with it, i figured they would give me grief so i just ponied up and took it to the pros, and ever since then the bike rides great! gears are smooth for the most part. Only thing thats weird is the "hybrid tire" design, they are so tall and so thin that they dont hold proper psi for over a week, so just gotta keep up with putting air in em

Good Morning David Hey in your travels thru Chicago. Have FUN. Hope there's No major tie ups for you. When we go to Mi to see family. We leave here around midnight. And zoom right thru Chi town. Be careful of the cops leaving Wis. About 100 miles before the border . Of course pulling a 5th wheel. I don't think there's much chance of you speeding. Call me when your getting close to the border of Wis & Minn. So I can pack up and turn the lights off . No by then your around 45 mins to an hr away. Ok breakfast time and cutting the lawn. Be safe Dave

Gotta love pre-assembled bikes! I bought a Coleman mountain bike at Target for $120-$150 back in 1998-1999 to use up Michigan Speedway. The first wheely I tried to pop, the handle bars came off.... no wheely and "look Ma, no hands!

Yes, Coleman makes more than just tents and camping gear!
