Have you had any luck or bites at a teaching position? I'm going into that field, and I hope it is better in two years!!

Poured footers is the only good way to go here in NC due to the hurricanes, which it looks like one may come in this weekend but it's hard to say at this point. I don't know how many advantages it may have in Oregon. Glad to see you getting a nice home built!

Thanks Duane. The footers are required in Oregon as well. More for snow loads then anything else. No teaching jobs, but Oregon is in really bad shape. I think most of the country will be turning around quicker then us for education.

Well it has been a hot and smokey week, but the rough plumbing is in and the under floor structure is done. Time to put the sub floor on and then next weekend we are building the walls. Roof trusses will be here the 18th.

Hi `Todd,
It's really fun watching your house grow as it is being built.
Do you have to drill a well for water ?
Are you contracting all of your work on the house ?
Are you also helping on the project ?
Wish you good weather & materials.
Good Luck 4-Sure

Space, water and sewer and power were all in for the old trailer I was living in. I am doing all of the work myself with help from friends and family.
