Tablets & iPad
i have an hp touchpad, which is discontinued.
I like it 10x better than the ipad 1 or 2 and it runs quicker.
I have it overclocked to 1.8ghz and there's so much more you can do to modify it or change the OS.
Have fun doing any of that with an iPad. After you spend all the money in your wallet for an ipad you'll be lucky if you have enough energy to still play around with it

UGH, wrong use of the word THEIR. You lost the rest of the points from me

As you can see, each group has their followers
Honestly every tablet is pretty good for what they do. You just need to decide what you want to use yours for and then choose accordingly.

I used to have a crackberry, then when comparing phones between the torch and samsung galaxy, the samsung took the cake easily. My thought is, if you have a tablet. What do you do with it? I just cant find a use, maybe something in school, not sure. Anyone have ideas?
I like my blackberry, but with RIM continually pushing back release dates for their 4G models (at least for the CDMA carriers) I just can't keep waiting when my current one is at the end of its life. And I'm not paying 200 bucks for a 3G phone. Not when I can get a high end 4G phone for the same price. I like my tablet, but part of that is the fact that, although it's only 3G, it's small enough that I can stick it in my pocket yet big enough that I can browse without straining my eyes. Plus when I am using my laptop I use the mobile hotspot feature for it if I'm not at home. It doesn't cost any extra for the tablets and it's a ton more convenient (and far more uses) than the aircard that I upgraded from.
Does this count ? My wife got a Kindle Fire for Christmas. I thought it was for the both of us. Boy was I wrong ha ha ha.. I have my lap top while out here in Az. So does a Kindle Fire count ?
I am seriously suprised at the lack of love for the iPad on here! I thought they were taking over the world!
I use and have an iPad (gen 1), an iTouch (gen3) and just presented the wife with an iPhone4s for her birthday yesterday. These are the products revolutionizing the industry. Everyone else is trying to keep up with Apple - that is a fact whether anyone agrees or disagrees. I never thought I'd be a Mac guy. 2 years ago the wife got me an iTouch which I initially disagreed with. But that thing does everything. And I totally agree that the iPad is just a big iTouch - a lot of bang for your buck in an iTouch. I'd really recommend one of those for people who are tablet curious but don't want to invest too much.
Compact is not necessarily better in a computer. I still post mostly from my pc desktop - its just the keyboard I'm most comfortable with at home. Last year I used the iPad when I was on vacation to keep up with my friends on the board and report live from Charlotte. Its still easier to type on than a Blackberry or SmartPhone.
But as to the original poll question - its all about "the apps". Other tablets may compare, but the Apple has over 200,000 apps. There is an app for everything with an iPad, and thats why it wins. I feel the same about any video game system I've ever owned (and why Sony owns that market). Apple even has an app that makes apps. I have an app that code scans the BudChev, a Dyno and quarter mile time, tracks fuel econo, etc...

My biggest issue with Apple lies primarily in some of their business practices. They've been known to reject apps from their app store only to copy them to sell themselves. I can make my own apps for my Android tablet as well.
Not to mention, the high end Android phones have been absolutely blowing away the iPhone in terms of performance the last two years. 4G, much more powerful processors, the works. Two years ago and more, yes everyone has been trying to keep up but I think in terms of performance the high end Android phones on the market have the iPhone beat, and badly. And with the ability to fine tune it a lot more than the iPhone, that appeals to me a ton.
