Good morning MCF! How is everyone today?

There is big racing at Talladega today. I am going to stay home and watch it. I need to heal from a long week of fighting a cold that keeps getting worse. I worked all week hoping I could beat it but work was so hectic I didn't get any rest. I think it has turned into a respiratory infection. Maybe a day of nothing will help. I dread going to a doctor, around here the waiting rooms are always filled, they seem like a good place to catch something worse than what you already have!

On a good note the mower rebuild project I have been working on in my shop/man cave is coming along great. It is a 60' Swisher pull behind mower I drug out of the woods at a guys house for $100. It had a seized engine and many other problems. The frame and deck are good. I bought a new drive pulley, starter switch, and solenoid for it. A friend gave me a nice 14.5HP engine out of an old riding mower he had that the deck had rusted apart on. With any luck I should have it running in a few more days and have a $1900 mower for $300. My wife said I can't work on it today, that I need to rest. Maybe while she is gone I will sneak out there!

Good morning all. I ended taking a sick day today too. My 'normal' days off are on Tuesday and Wednesday, but I was up late last night sick and decided to call off. As an update to The Beast, she is sitting in a million pieces right now. The whole project started as getting a new Triple Edge Performance transmission because the stocker was starting to slip a little. While I had the engine and transmission out, I decided to have new rings installed because I was burning a little oil. The shop didn't do a compression test prior to the tear down, but that's okay because I went ahead and decided to do almost a complete engine rebuild. Everything short of crank and cam bearings. Unfortunately, I won't be able to provide pictures of the build due to security concerns. I work in corrections and have access to an auto skills shop. Basically a mechanic school closely supervised by an ASE Master Tech. This is the first real performance/modified engine build that they've done and they're paying extra attention to getting everything right. Another thing that's getting done while everything's apart is new wheel bearings are being installed.

Good morning friends.
Another beautiful 80o day here in the northwest. Got most of the section of fence replaced that was blown down by high winds a few months ago.
Wishing everyone a great day, and hope the weather improves for those who've not been as fortunate.
