Thanks Space. You know for yrs that bothered me when guys would say man you go it made in the shade. BUt some don't know what I did to get here. I worked 10 to 12 hrs a day 7 days a week on overnights. For Months on end. Not just a few days. But Months. Only time we slowed down was in late June to early July for a few weeks. 70 hrs weeks were nothing back then 100 hr weeks were the norm. Yeah Maybe I wasn't working every min. But I was there away from my family & close friends! I missed some of my kids events that I couldn't get a way to attend. Not all but some. Yes. I took some real nice vacations with my family cause I could afford it then. But still I felt guilty not being there all the time for them. But you never knew when the bottom would fall out. So I tried to make $$ while times were good at G.M. Then after a two week vacation with my wife & some CLOSE friends at Daytona BIKE week. I came back to work. But up until that time which was 32.5 yrs at the same place. I never thought about retiring. But my 1st day back I walked in with a friend at 11:55 pm to punch in. I had my card in my hand to swipe. I turned to my buddy and said I can't do this any more and told him if the boss had a problem call me. And I shook his hand and retired from GENERAL MOTORS. Never ever went back inside the plant! I've had odd jobs since for extra ca$h. But nothing like i had. Now 8 hrs is too much . There's a lot more to this story. But I'm sure Taz or you Space would kick me off here before you could finish reading it all . So YES! I'm enjoying my retirement as much as I can. Not living large by any means But were doing Ok for an old Guy Later dude's & Dudette's
