Sueing over MPG
My question is how can she sue Honda over this? They're not the ones who made the estimate. If anything, she should be suing the EPA for telling her she'd get 50mpg. Not that you can sue the federal government anymore, but still.
Funny thing is, on almost every car I've ever owned, I've gotten at least a couple mpg ABOVE the "old" EPA estimate. Not sure how I do it but I guess I have a knack for it.

I just mentioned exactly the oppisite on the way home from Fla. Every slow moving car was a Prius. Seriously, I asked wont they go any faster.
My wife JUST bought a new 2012 Dodge Avenger (Monday). They are EPA rated at 31 on the highway, but people are getting 35-36 instead. She got this for under $16K new. Do the math. How much do you save driving a hybrid??? NOT!
AND..........it's built in Sterling Heights (Detroit), U.S. made engine and tranny, 74% U.S. or Canadian parts, and ZERO Chinese parts. This was a no brainer for us.
You can KEEP your Honda or Toyota.
I drive I-4 almost daily between work and home. I drive with the cruise set at 70 and try to stay in the center lane. I get passed by toyota Prius' and Honda Civics all the time. I don't recall being passed by a Toyota Yaris or Echo. I guess they can't peddle that fast.
Nissans are primarily made with US parts. Not too many parts come from Japan and that's why the tsunami didn't affect Nissan nearly as much as it did Toyota and Honda. As a result, we were able to steal a good deal of market share and Nissan is having record sales at the moment. My work is gearing up to maintain that market share and we're adding a 2nd shift to the truck lines in March (might put in for a team lead position for one of those lines when they post the jobs) and the Altima line (that I currently work on) will likely go to 3 shifts late summer. If I don't get a truck team lead I'll be able to put in for that last Altima one, unless our current TL gets a supervisor job, then I'll definitely put in for his job.
