This Straight-Piped 2016 Dodge Viper ACR Will Make Your Ears Bleed

The Dodge Viper, while many things, is not a subtle car. The appearance is as low-slung and aggressive as a car can be, the engine is outrageously large, and the colors are often garish and bright. Surprisingly, Vipers haven’t always been the loudest cars from the factory, but as a quick video illustrates, an aggressive exhaust raises the decibels substantially.
The particular car in the video is a 2016 Dodge Viper ACR, equipped with the Extreme Aero kit. The ACR is a serious bit of kit, raising the already-ridiculous performance capabilities of the regular Viper to absurd levels. According to the video description, this ACR is equipped with a straight-pipe exhaust, leaving nothing to muffle the tremendously powerful V-10 under the clamshell hood.

The ACR doesn’t add anything in the power department, with the same 645 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque churned out from the 8.4-liter naturally aspirated V-10 engine. What it does include, however, is a bucket of race-ready parts that allowed the new ACR to shatter thirteen production records on race tracks around the world. Order a Viper in ACR spec, and Dodge adds a shamelessly aggressive aero kit, including a massive rear spoiler apparently large enough to sleep on, a deep front splitter, and a knife-like rear diffuser.
Under the skin, the ACR receives a specialized Bilstein suspension, with powerful brakes and bespoke Kumho tires.
