Well, I think we could organize a class action lawsuit against Skoda! They can't do this to our beloved cars can they? I personally find it demeaning. I'm going to go cry

We can use lawsuit money to engineer, build and produce 'Space' 2011...

 

I really think that, very sadly, the market niche for a 2 door luxury performance car is gone. It's been gone, the war has been lost, and we have lost miserably. And God knows that we fought it every step of the way. We fought and survived the muscle car era, we survived the OPEC Embargo, we survived the 80's... we went out briefly in the late 80's and early 90's, but we came back when times were good in the 90's, and then we died again right before the economy tanked. We have fought hard to keep a 2 door luxury peformance car alive, but the war is over, and we have lost... for now....

Chevrolet has the Corvette for super performance, the Camaro for affordable performance, and everyone now wants 4 door luxury cars like Lexus, Infiniti, the Toyota Avalon, Lincoln, and Cadillac. There just isn't really a niche for hte Monte Carlo anymore. It's better to let the car rest in peace than insist Chevrolet bring it back and they just slap a badge on whatever the next car coming up the line is.

I do'nt want to see it make a return like the Charger of the 1980's....

I wouldn't call the new Camaro "affordable performance". Here in Canada, unless you want a bare-bones base model, the Camaro runs from $40,000 to $50,000.

As for the 80's Chargers, a few friends of mine owned those things at one time. By far the worst car Carrol Shelby put his name on.

 

I guess I'm the only one who likes the Skoda.

My buddy has a couple acres we like to tear up in my old CRX. Takin out 'The Skoder' even sounds cool. I volunteer to be their US rep.
