Cool some old car pics...

so just recently i found a box of old photos of some of the vehicles my dad has owned over the years, and decided that i should scan some into my computer as backup copys. then i realized what a great thread these pics could make, and thats why im typing this.

so far i've only scaned a handful of pics, and i have a ton more to go, but i figure i can share the ones i've scanned so far. enjoy! and for fun, im not gonna label the year, make & model till i do the next handfull of pics.... try to guess! mwahahaha!

Now thats what cars are suppose to look like. Made out of metal and not plastic. Leave the plastic for the girls in Beverly Hills. LOL

What year is the blue car with advertising on it ? 54 ?
What you might want to do is also start a photobucket page and put them on there ?

Thanks for sharing! How many of those does he wish he still had?

My dad doesn't have many pictures of his old cars... he had a blue '68 V6 Crapstang, a '58 and '66 Corvette that he repaired in his body shop , the '66 he put a red metal flake paint job on (he was the only guy in the Titusville, FL who worked with Fiberglass at one time), a '70 GTO Judge that he got not running well, cleaned the carbon out and it ran fine. He sold a few of them for under $1000!!!

I did find some pictures of his old 18 wheelers. This blue 1975 White-Freightliner he put 2,000,000 miles on (rebuilt engine 4-5 times, 2 transmissions, 2 repaints, the brown 1984 Freightliner he put about 1.5 million on, 2 rebuilts, 1 repaint, 1 transmission, and the gray volvo has had one transmission and 1 engine rebuild.

yessir, lol. that was the last OLD old vehicle we really had on the road. we took it to a couple of local cruse-ins and used it to haul our trashcans & recycling up to the drop-off up in dingmans. the road heading up there winds around alot, and the old bias ply, tall skinny tires would squeil like crazy around every bend, it was like an old black & white car movie we saved it from being turned into a "bigfoot" clone, but after having it a while they would not let us pass inspection 'caus there was no glass in the side doors... and we sold it

well, the '57 wagon he DOES still have, ( most of you know that) and the other panel truck in the last pic he still has & has owned for the last 35ish years.... the rest are better off with the people that bought them, 'caus they all were restored / refurbished & enjoyed.

- nascar43-- I love that one !
it was a cool car. you'll never guess the engine.... no, not the original straight 6!

it had a 413 hemi with the long-ram style 2x4 intake, backed by a pushbutton operated torqflite auto and an olds/pontiac rear. the engine & trans were actually pulled from one of the mopar factory lightweight drag cars! yha... the drag car was crusty and deemed "too far gone". anyways, the engine was like the one below:
