Good morning everyone, trying to find anything to watch on tv at the moment, but there is nothing on so figured I'd stop by the forum and see what was up.

Amy saw that you had some pretty fierce weather near you, I am glad that you are ok

My singer asked me to play a gig this afternoon from 3 - 7 doing a tribute to Mearle Haggard, not sure if I am going to do it with him as it may be just too old of country music for me to play for that many hours so I'm still deciding lol, I think it's mostly cause I own the pa that we normally use for gigs and the pa he has is more for home use and not a bar setting lol, so I did offer to let him use it if he still wants to do it by himself

Hey Ken. You're on a roll with these daily threads! What is it now 3 in a row? You're a good dude. Well deserving of your MOTM status. What kind of music do you normally do? I'm a big fan of classic country music as well as many other genres. I say go for it, do the tribute to Merle. That's just my opinion of course. Not trying to tell you what to do with your life. It just sounds cool to me.

 

Hey Brandon, ya I've been up late at night a lot more than usual lately lol

I usually play classic rock, 80's rock and newer country when I play live, sometimes even classical with a heavy metal twist and a few original songs that I have written. I personally enjoy playing Metallica and other hard rock music, but in my area you just can't play that stuff at the bars as the crowd just isn't there. Don't get me wrong, I like Merle but I am not sure if I want to play 4 hours of his music, if it was a variety of different artists it would be a lot more fun for me, but I believe his intentions are to do a story along with the music, so I would basically just be there to fill in the music for him

 

I feel ya on that. Do you have any videos online of your music?
