I have been working long hours and most weekends here lately. That's my excuse for not being here everyday. But I have good news, I have a 3 day weekend off!I might cut some firewood, shine the SS, who knows. I am looking forward to some racing tonight. The Sprint Unlimited is on about 8:30.

 

Good morning everyone. Started work at 5 this morning. It's been an easy morning so far. Hoping the rest of the day is like this. At least I am done at 1 today so I can't complain with that. Have a great Saturday everyone.

And today is my daughters 29th birthday.
I've always had to make a point of getting 2 gifts.
Now its just chocolate and a card. Her hubby's taking her for dinner and a movie.


I didn't think of getting a Valentine's gift for the cars... good idea.
The Monte and Crystal both need headers! But Crystal is getting CAI & Ported TB for her birthday, March 21.


As for me, I'll be down in the basement installing electrical now that we got the walls framed in.

I will work with water lines because I know how to swim if it all goes wrong but electricity I won't mess with!!!!
My kids tease me about taking care of my cars. They say "Mom, if you put as much energy into finding a man as you put into taking care of your cars, you'd be golden!" My response is..."Been there, done that...My cars appreciate the attention much more and I know don't have to worry about where they've been...My cars make me happy."

As for this being Valentines Day, I have a sappy to reality story. 11 years ago today I proposed to my wife while on a getaway up in the Pocono's. I know it sounds sappy to give a diamond on valentines day in the Pocono's. I really didn't plan it that way, it just worked out to be the only weekend we were both off and the Poconos were a middle meeting place for us.

Fast forward to today, I gave her a carhartt coat for a valentines gift because that's what she wanted. She just left with the kids to spend the weekend with her sister who is ill and lonely. My wife is good at uplifting others who are in need. It's funny how a few years of marriage changes things. So my other valentines gift was to send money for her to entertain her sister with while me and the old dog Angus lay around and eat!
