Sad Day For MN Gearheads!
Found out throught a local forum that while one of the guys was at world of wheels Porkeys is going to get torn down,

Porkeys has been a stable for the car and truck enthusiest for many many years it opened in 1953,
Durring back to the 50's and Car Craft summer nationals the place would be packed, barely enought room to walk throught people would set up there lawn chairs along the street becuase there was soooo many cars out,

It sounds like it was and is an awesome place. Always a shame for me, as an historian, to see a place like that go into the ages as history and not a current, ongoing thing... times are always changing though.

is it still in buisness and it is being torn down or was it closed for a long time and did it become a eye soar. what i mean did it get run down i would figure that the county willbuy it and just do the up keep on the building and parking area just for events like car shows like it had been doing just for a small fee to get in as in walk in fee to show a vehicle wioll be a little higher. that will be more fesable and less likely that no one can get hurt when there is a car event. sorry for alot of questions and all in this post it would be a good spot and will creat jobs for up keep and maintenence
