Default Rudy's Big Adventure

Saturday evening, my dog Rudy ran off. We were lighting off fireworks and she freaked and ran off. We were right across the street from my work, which is behind the local golf course. We searched for her all saturday evening, and all day sunday. Sunday evening she was spotted back in the field she ran away from. I followed her along the creek and spotted her, but she ran off again. So my dad, mom and I searched along the creek by the golf course until about 10pm yesterday. So this morning I went to work and my mom and dad stopped by the golf course and told them about Rudy. At about 2pm today some people spotted her by the reservoir at the golf course entrance and tried to catch her. She ended up chasing some geese off behind the reservoir. When I got there I tried looking for her. I walked to the top of the golf course to survey the area then I walked the length of the reservoir looking for her. When I was done there I got a call from my dad saying the grounds keepers spotted Rudy running through the golf course. He hopped on their golf cart and rode after her and I looped back around behind my work to the field we lost her at. In that little bit of time she ran the entire length of the golf course, back to the field. They herded her my direction. When she saw me she ran right up all excited to see me. I grabbed her and gave her the treats/food and water I had at work. Then I took her home and gave her a much needed bath. She seems to be in good shape, no cuts/scrapes or ticks that I can see. Shes lucky to be in good shape for as long as she was lost. Shes sleeping right now in her bed, she was so exhausted she couldnt walk up the stairs to the bathroom, I had to carry her. We were lucky we found her just a few hours before a huge storm ran through. Im just glad shes back and safe. Im sure shes had enough excitement for a while, hopefully.

Glad she's home safe. My wife always gives ours a sedative when it is fireworks time.
