Restores My Faith In People
A fellow Trifive.com member has terminal cancer. He is not expected the make it. Rick is building a '57 Chevy gasser and was afraid he'd never get to drive the car. The owner of the web site asked the members for help. A paypal account was set up and members started donating to the account so Rick could buy parts for the car.
Well another member from Illinois offered to paint the '57 for Rick who lives in Pennsylvania. So a 3rd member from IL drove to PA, picked the car up and brought it back to IL so it could be painted. The member who did the body/paint work had the car painted in 11 days. He also did custom work to make the front end tilt with only one person instead of two.
I thought you guys would like to see the '57. This is Rick after getting the car back and doing some work on it.

Things have been slow since my car came back from Fuzzy. Between finishing the engine swap in my wagon and going to doctors, and just dealing with everyday pain, It's been slow going on the gasser. I did however get the steering column and brake and clutch pedals in place. Take a look!

Check out the color of the wheel.

I also put the steering linkage in so I can steer the car. Next I'll hook up the parking brake.

Love to hear stories like that.
I will pray for Rick and his family.
If there is one thing that I've learned about Car Guys/Gals and the car community is that no matter what emblem we have on our fenders or type of motor in our vehicle.....We all support each other and that is what makes this hobby, passion, interest and just plain ole love for cars so wonderful and fun.
Rick, God will give you strength. Reach out and He'll reach in.

this is awesome, I really hope things work out better for Rick than they are supposed. Would love to see that 57 get finished and for him to get a long time to ride around in it!
That is a really cool story, still good people in the world.
WE did something like that on the Torino forum once to raise money for someones hospital bills who had cancer.
Thanks for sharing it RJ! Guy got some stuff done and did a really big thing to donate 11 days of his time to do all of that work!
