What's everyone think of it? Good? Bad? Oil's oil and none of them make a difference? (Guys at the local Napa) I personally think it's a little odd, but, maybe some discussion will get the ol' brain juices flowing and I can get a little of the edumacation on the subject.

 

I wouldn't use recycled oil for the simple reason that I paint cars in my back yard, and I always pour my extra paint, thinners, etc., into my oil recycling jug. You're buying my old paint

More seirously, I know htat stuff is filtered out. I might even use it in my own car, but I am a synthetic guy myself. Recycled oil has to meet the same standards as all other oils, it has to have the same additives at certain levels as all other oils, and so I don't really see a big issue with it. Maybe it breaks down quicker, but I most seriously doubt that... just saying it's a possibility.

Oil doesn't really wear out... it gets "contaminatns" in it, and the additives wear out of it after awhile.

 

I wouldn't put it in my car. Thru the combustion process their is acid in the oil. I'm not going anywhere near it.

Google gave me this. Valvoline introduces NextGen recycled motor oil; now, who wants it?. I feel if i'm using it I should get a discount like a core charge for bringing in my old oil.

i wouldnt use it in my car. but i know some mechanics here in town that deals with a recycling company and that is almost all they use unless you ask for something else. so it must not be bad

 

i wouldn't use it either, just it being recycled doesn't give me the feeling that it's fresh.

 

 

How does the price of recycled compare to new conventional? It's going to be hard for a lot of us to accept recycled (even if it's just as good) when you can buy new oil just as easily.
