Default Rare Transit of Venus This Tuesday

The transit of Venus - where Venus passes in front of the Sun - will occur this coming Tuesday. This rare event will not happen again until 2117.

A live webcast will take place from the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii:

Astronaut Don Pettit also plans on photographing the event from the ISS:

Not a problem, 'Space...it matters none to me. Threads always seem to take a few twists and turns no matter the original subject.

Seeing the Transit in Person

Many people throughout th e world will also be able to see at least part of the transit in person. Find out where and when to view it. Do not look directly at the sun! Wear eclipse-safe glasses or use other ways to view it safely.
