Rant** Door slammers

LOL! Chris, I love your policy! hahaha!
I hate it when people slam my doors too. Like you have all said, they practically shut themselves. But like Lou, most people do it once, and then realize it doesnt take much to shut it.
I also HATE it when people don't look before they open the passenger door (usually where anyone else is sitting in my car), and they just fling it open as soon as the car stops. OMG, thankfully its never turned bad, and hit anything. But seriously one of these days some moron is going to swing it right into another car, or drag it on a sidewalk because they opened it to fast and did not realize the car was parked at enough of an angle that the door will rub the curb if opened all the way...etc, etc...All I ask is know you surroundings BEFORE you open MY car door!

LOL
I'm picturing Mike and g/f going to his car. Suddenly Mike sprints ahead, opens his door, quickly jumps in, and closes his door. Meanwhile g/f is still 25+ feet away from car. Chivalry is dead. But who cares? My door is safe. (just kidding Mike)
Another option for people is to open and close the door for your passenger. Scores points too. Although your buddies might look at you funny.

I'm not a fan of door slammers, but I'm even less of a fan of door throwers.
Is it really necessary to throw a door open? Our doors are long, they hit things pretty easily, particularly other cars, cart corrals, curbs etc..
I notice they catch the wind pretty well too, which is surprising to many people. I think it's funny to watch them get pulled out of the car because of the door.

Like Duane posted, try a '57 Chevy. People practictly whail them shut some times. I had BOTH door windows broke at car show once...... by the judges. They just walked off and let me deal with the damage.
I think what the hard door closing comes from is the 1980s vehicles. The 4th gen Monte owners can probably relate to what I mean. It does seem to take extra effort to close the doors on an '81-88 Monte and I'm sure other vehicles. Not just the GM products.
Anyone know that every time you touch glass with your bare skin you leave tiny scratches in the glass?

Yeah, I also get annoyed by those that leave fingerprints all over the glass or paint to close a car door. Your hands are dirty, greasy and/or oily, keep them off the car's glass and paint at all times.
And so help you, lean on my car and I will motherbleeping hurt you.

opening doors
I have always opened / closed the door for my G/F..
I'm a firm believer in Chivalry. With that said..........
People that fling open car doors in parking lots without
any regards to possible damage to another vehicle Annoy me...
And Yes, the MC doors practically shut themselves.
Does anyone have a early 70's MC ? ( I know, dumb question )
Those doors, do take a little effort
