if anyone has seen the first fast and furious then they know what im talking about, during the first street race the main character had his laptop in his ricer and on the screen showed all the information the computer in the car has i.e. manifold pressure, fuel pressure ect... does anybody know where i can get the cable/program so i can do this in my car? i know its probably outdated but i think its cool and i def wanna do this

Chris, I don't know his screen name (maybe Cort does) but a guy who's a member of MonteSS has a set up like this in his '86 SS. He showed it to me at the '07 Montes@MIS event and I saw him again at the '07 Monte Nats in june.

heres an option

http://www.scangauge.com/

just hooks up to the DLC. it'll display 4 gauges at once digitally, but because our cars dont monitor fuel pressure it wont give a reading on that. honestly fuel pressure seems like it would be pretty boring to watch, only use would be if your fuel pump died you would know whats going on right away, or if you were making so much power the pump couldnt keep up causing a drop in pressure.

I think I remember seeing something similar to what you're talking about on one of the shows on Spike TV's Powerblock. Horsepower TV I think. But it was part of a full size dyno. They had a Chevelle (I think) strapped onto the dyno, and had a laptop in the car with them showing all the info in real time. But it was connected to the dyno outside of the car.

I'm suspecting the movie had a program made up to appear like it was connected to the car, but really wasn't. Probably just running a program displaying b.s. info. If such a program does exist, would a dealer's service department have it maybe?
