the concept picture you ahd up whne I voted was an ugly car space... the challenger looked much better, so it won my vote. the camaro... i kind of see where they TRIED ot make it retro, but it didn't work.

 

Apparently you can now put your orders in for limited SRT-8 Challengers now at Dodge dealers.. The chevy camp hasn't allowed this yet.. Im just getting tired of waiting for the day when it will roll out the door! If this is how long it takes for the camaro to roll out. I dont even want to think about when the next monte will appear..

It's been a long time coming, but the wait is over. The Challenger is here, and you can have it in your driveway for $37,995. Well, that's what the list MSRP shows, but good luck getting one of the 6400 limited-edition SRT8 models produced in 2008. For those who aren't aware, this Challenger is a 2-door 5-passenger variant of the Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300. What this means is that the rear-drive car has independent rear suspension — unlike Ford's Mustang.

[/align]The engine and transmission are SRT8-specific for the first year, which means a 5-speed automatic attached to a whopping 6.1-liter 425-horsepower V-8. We love this engine, but wish there was a manual attached to it. No worries, because in 2009 the Challenger will be released with lesser engines and also a manual transmission.
For now, the collectors will pay extra for the orange paint (which won't be available later) and carbon stickers — and that little special-edition plaque. For the first-generation cars there are two other paint color options: black and silver. However, one car is scheduled to be painted Petty Blue in honor of NASCAR living legend, Richard Petty.

The 37900 is no problem its the 15 - 20kdealer markup that puts it out of reach. I sure hope that doesnt happen to the Camaro.
