Default Plasti dip and that w word...

so i have been thinking alot about plasti dip and well that dreaded word that starts with a w and that white crap that makes traffic horrendious and the salt hit the roads

I was wondering if anyone has done/had plasti dip on thier car durring winter,

i have been thinking heavily about doing it to the intrigues wheels for the winter to help seal them from corrosion and all that fun stuff since they are in near mint condition i was even thinking of doing the whole front bumper. edge of the hood for winter to keep the salt and ect off it!then come spring i can just peal it off,

what are your thoughts

You could ut move to the west coast and then you wont have to worry about rusting cars.

that's an option but i don't see myself convincing amy to move out that way

i emailed the company becuase a guy on the local forum made a good point will it be able to resist the extreem cold temps we get and this is the response i got back from them

Justin, Plasti Dip can withstand temperatures of -30F to 200F. Plasti Dip sticks to most paints, but not oil based paints. You would need to test this product to see if it will meet your expectations. You can find Plasti Dip at your local Home Depot, Lowes and Ace Hardware stores.

Thank you.

I just put it on my truck wheels but havent seen any dreaded winter yet. I also was thinking of doing it to my chrome wheels on the Monte if I dont find me some extra tires for my stockers.

Justin, they always tell you to do a test patch in an inconspicuous area. I think it's a legal thing to cover their butts. I'd try it on the wheels this winter, and see how it goes.

I have no idea what to say about this one. Except that I have a hard time believing anyone is already prepping for winter when it was 106 in NC yesterday....

i am planing on doing a test of it on just a piece of clearcoated metal and shoving it in out work freezer at work, it sits at -12 at all times, even freeze some water on it and just try a few other things with it to kind of try to that dreaded w word
