MIKE: Do you have reg plates or collector plates ? I bought my collector plates when I 1st got the Chevelle. And have Classic car insurance. Here in Minn I can drive it anytime any where with those plates. And as much as I want.

I was just joking. We are still figuring out what we want to do with the insurance and plates.

I like the anytime anywhere idea

hey Mike. Check with your sec of state. To see which is better for you. Collector plates you only buy once. Thats it no renewels.. Some of the cops don't know that part of the law. So might want to double check about when and where you can drive in yr state. I've never been pulled over for that. But I've heard stories. Most guys just tell the cops that they just at a show or were working on it at a freinds. I don't think you need to tell them anything.

My Father in law has his original 1971 plates on his Cutlass. All he had to do is take photos of them and file them with the secretary of state. Im not sure about the insurance but I think he has classic insurance like Haggarty or something.

Default new '68 camaro ss

Nice ride brotha! its gonna be a fun project with your Dad!! My first car was a "68 Camaro rally sport 327 c.I. automatic 350 turbohydro trans! MAN, I miss that car!! tho Im not an expert, I know a lot about these, first off it looks like the deluxe interior? also power brakes I believe was an option, the rear spoiler is correct, it was 70 1/2 to 73 that had shorter ones like this and the three piece wrap around type? does it have single leaf springs or multi-leaf? Im pretty sure the SS badge came with heavier duty multi-leafs due to more H.P. etc, are you sure it is a posi rear? stomp on it and look at your burn out!! unless you are going for original you don't want that original "school bus" giant diameter steering wheel on it!! lol! since it has the chrome wheel well trims the fenders and quarters must still have the groove for them thus thinking they are not bondo-ed etc?? one cool trim piece I had and like is the lower rocker panel chrome that accentuates the angle trim on top of doors and rear quarter windows. the SS badging superceded the RS badging on cars ordered as such, i.e. ( SS/RS ) trim options.I recommend changing rear leafs to multi leafs, Rancho suspension used to make them, what I put on,also a shift kit for trans! also if not a resto, find and replace every vacuum line you can with new rubber!! big difference!! yes, I ramble but I love these cars!!

Hahah, I hope I can answer a lot.

It's definitely put together from the P.O. It's a real SS, but other than that, I'm sure everything was upgraded.

The rear suspension is an air suspension. I am sure it's a Posi rear.

It's been a great car to take to shows. I have a few glass issues that I need to figure out. But with the windows down it doesn't bother me at all
