RE: OOPS!
Here is the front driver side. You can see the fender is buckled on top and the mirror is gone. The sign took the mirror and scraped the side. You can see the gap is messed up against the hood.
A drivers side pic showing the scuff marks on the door and rear fender from the sign. The door is also dented from the mirror, and both the door and fender are wrinkled.
Here is the passenger side showing the buckled fender, which I believe we missed in the quote, but I'm sure he has a pic of it. You can't see the broken front ground effect from all the road crap, but the mounts are broke, and it is just sitting there, basically.
Original quote was over $4,100. I'm thinking more like $4,500, but I'm also thinking that because of the fenders buckled, there might be some underside damage, also.
Just plain SUCKS! I just put $1,000 in him LAST week replacing the broken flex plate with a new L36 flex plate and a 2500 RPM stall torque convertor from ZZP. Now this. I made a post on the thread about crap Michilin tires, and how poor treadlife I got from them. Well, Guess I paid double for it, didn't I. I was hoping to make it to spring before I bought tires. Not sure now, especially with me only working 20-30 hrs/week right now instead of the usual 50-55.
At least God kept me SAFE thru this mess. AND THAT'S WHY I DRIVE A MONTE CARLO! I walked away! Actually I drive OUT of the ditch and into the corn field, then back thru the ditch and onto the road. I was stuck in the ditch pretty good, too!

RE: OOPS!
$4,100 to $4,500 OUCH!
$270for the driver's side fender. Is that repair or replacement?
Just glad that your insurance company didn't try to call it a write-off. In Ontario, the ins. co's almost always over estimate the cost to repair your car, and greatly under estimate the value of your car. That way they can declare it a write off and cut you a check for a lot less than what you feel the car is worth.
Important thing here is that you came out okay.[sm=smiley20.gif]

RE: OOPS!
I've been thru this with the totalling thing, twice. They make you an offer, and you can find 10 cars identically equipped to yours in GM dealers anywhere in Michigan, and they will average the 10 and pay you that amount. I made over $1,000 in about an hour doing that the last time. Not, this isn't a total, and AAA is good to work with. Been with them for almost 30 years now. They WILL make it right. No problem there. Also, I don't believe any sheet metal will be replaced. Everything is fixable, except the plastic parts. When the tre limb fell on me while driving in a storm last spring, the sheet metal damage was WAY worse than this, and they fixed it OK. AAA is that way. Fix it if you can. They would rather pay for labor than pay for parts.

RE: OOPS!
Well I'm glad your insurance is willing to work with you!
I would also look to ebay for some of the parts, mainly the plastics. There's always something getting parted out and that can save a bundle. The dealer wants more than 200$ for a mirror for my parents van. on ebay it's 30$ shipped... I just had to laff. Now, if they would just give me the money to buy the part... lol
The body shop guy might not like it, but OEM parts are always better, and at least he can get a bit of labor out of it. If he fusses tell him you'll go elsewhere, even if it's more expensive. I dunno about the insurance thing tho... I mean don't get them to write the full 4.5k out if ur savingas much on parts.
What buckled the fenders? is it because it pulled backwardson the front bumper cover and bent it that way?
Well, good luck in it, and glad you weren't injured! (except maybe ur pride)
But if it helps the pride thing at all, On wednesday (when all the snow happened in Iowa) I got stuck for 20-30 minutes at a gas station. Had to call someone to bring a shovel and salt for traction just incase. Even after I got it unstuck from where it was (totally unplowed side street) it was nearly a minute of slipping and sliding on the main road before I got moving faster than 5 mph.... Had to turn off the damn TCS.. I would SOO love to hack that crap out of the computer.....
So yeah, ur not the only one. That's actually the second time I've been stuck this winter. Last time was the first Saturday in December, I actually ended up in the median of a big 4 lane highway due to some really thick, and very slick slush. TCS, a shovel, andmy floor mats for tractiondidn't help that time either, lol.

Power of Positive Thinking[/align]
Positive thinking is a mental attitude that admits into the mind thoughts, words and images that are conductive to growth, expansion and success. It is a mental attitude that expects good and favorable results. A positive mind anticipates happiness, joy, health and a successful outcome of every situation and action.
Whatever the mind expects,~> it finds.
Wayne,
I'm glad you are at home, & not in the hospital.
I'm glad that you had insurance on your Monte,
and that it will be repaired to original/or bettercondition.
I'm glad that you can still earn money for repairs, and
that you were not injured in this mishap.
I wish you good, and favorable results from this
unfortunate incident that occurred in your life.
I wish you health/peace/happiness,
