My dad had a 59 Chevy many years ago. It's the one car he says he wishes he had never gotten rid of. There were rumors back in the day, that if you got the 59 over 100 mph the tail fins would lift the back end of the car off the ground. He said he tried it once, but didn't notice any difference in ride height.

=============================================
Below is another great link about Chevy's & the Monte Carlo's
Check it `out when U have the time.....

Click 2 EnJoy `Chevy's

The sharp 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo sold well in the personal-luxury market.

Chevy answered buyers' demands for bigger cars with the
longer, wider and heavier 1959 Chevrolet Impala & if you go over
100 MPH + it just might `Fly
.
Exuberant 1950s styling is just one reason the 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air
is a collector's dream today.

Cool information Space.

http://oldcarandtruckpictures.com/Er...e/index-a.html

Here we have a similar story. http://oldcarsandtruckspictures.com/...p/index-a.html

Here we have RJ in 1976 with his very first car. Look at his face. He knows he's driving a chick magnet. Yeah, we see ya buddy.

Fast forward to 1982. RJ KNOWS his '57 Chevy is just want the ladies want. Sweet, Smooth, and Sas-Say.

1990. RJ walks out in the barn one day and discovers. "WTF? Someone stripped my car......... I'm going to kill the @#%^&**."

2011. RJ thinking to himself, "Dang! It looks like a 1960s gasser. COOL!"
