Default Off topic !!! Ohh yeah

OK. I just have to rant about this for a min or 3. I hear this from the Chevy guys the Mopar guys. I've heard it now for 3 yrs or more. They wouldn't buy a Mustang. Cause its a girls car. Or I'd rather walk then be seen in a Ford. Stuff like that. So not to long ago. I took one of my so called Mustang haters. With me to a meeting. Now he didn't know it was a Mustang meeting. He pissed & Moaned when we drove up. We were not there 20 mins when a Newer Mustang Pro Street. Came around the corner. His head turned about 360 degrees. It was funny as Hell. I went off and talked to a few of my friends. After about 3 hrs. I had to DRAG him away from the GIRLIE Mustangs! Man this guy did a complete 360 on owning a Mustang. Now let me say this. When they hold a meeting. over 200 cars showed up. it started at 6 PM. we got there right at 6. left around 9 ish. And there was still Mustangs coming in. He really didn't want to leave. I just hate to see this going on. I had to get it off my chest. Thanks for letting me rant. P.S. One reason I posted this is. Before I bought my Monte carlo. I was all set of a newer Mustang V8. I still turn my head when one goes by. Just as much as I do. When I see a Monte Carlo..

I wouldn't likely ever buy a Mustang or any other Ford, because my first Ford has been the most unreliable, most expensive vehicle to repair I've ever owned. It has nothing to do with the usual Mustang bashing you mentioned.
That being said, I don't hate Mustangs or Fords in general, but this Ford I own has left a very bad taste in my mouth. I suppose the same thing would be true if I ran Fords all my life and the first Chevy I bought was a complete lemon. I wouldn't be running out to buy another Chevy right away either.

I've mentioned before that I'm a car guy in general. I prefer GM. But I certainly wouldn't rule out a Mustang. A local Ford dealer is an official Ford SVT dealership. They sell the Saleen and Roush Mustangs. And I've seen them up close and personal. Those things kick ***! Don't get me wrong. I'd still make a Chevy my first choice. But would never completely rule out a Mustang.

I love cars, and i hate to say it but i love keeping the Chevy/Ford/Mopar war going even more. just for the fun of it. My family and i have at least one vehicle from the three domestic brands. They all have their good and bad point. I just had to drop a grand on my monty and thats the most i have ever had to shell out on one repair...damn chevys
Now at the end of the day you have to keep in mind that the Mustang was Fords was way of attracting the female buys

I love all cars and could care less what people think. I have raced hondas, fords, chevys, and subarus. The best made car I had was a Subaru WRX, the worst was a Pontiac Firebird. The gm cars for years have been all plastic and cheap inside. The monte was the nicest chevy car I have owned and it still had to much plastic. I love the Chevy 350 motor and the ruck interiors seem to be better made. My parents had a 2006 Mustang GT and it was faster and nicer then any car I have owned and I woud take one in a heart beat. I consider the Ford and Chevy Trucks to be equal now, but I still lean to Chevy because of my history with the motors. I feel bad for someone who wouldn't drive a ford or chevy or any other make of car because it was not X brand. There are many great cars out there. Drive what you want and enjoy life. That being said I can not wait to get my plastic pos camaro up and running and toast a few mustangs. lol

Correct me if I'm wrong. But I thought the stigma with Mustangs being aimed at women was because of a comment made about the first generation Mustangs. Someone in the industry said it looked too much like a "secretary's car". That was when Ford redesigned it to look more muscular.

I don't know for sure, just stating what I heard.

I don't care what make it is as long as its American Muscle! Are you going to call the new Boss 302 Mustang a girlie car - I think not!

I don't really know anything about the Mustang being a girlie car...except that it is J/K!!!

I prefer to buy GM vehicles because I've had good luck with them, my family owns them, and it's what I'm use to. That doesn't mean that I don't like anything else, but they would have to be a really good vehicle to make me consider going away from GM to buy it. When it comes to Ford, there are really only two cars of theirs that I would consider buying. The Mustang, and the 98-03 Escort ZX2. They're both really good cars for their segment.
