Default No Top Off Law in Oregon

There is a new Oregon State Law now in effect as of July 1, 2009. It is the "No Top Off" law which means you can no longer top off your vehicle (I.E. cram your gas tank with as much fuel as possible). It is regulated by DEQ. Here is the memo I got from work:

My question is. What is the "DEQ"? How will the enforce it? Will there be someone looking over your shoulder to see if you are topping it off? Will they have cameras looking at you while you are filling up?

I grew up always thinking "top off" meant to just add <$5 worth of gas to the car because you drove it down the street.

What do they mean? When the car tells it that there was enough gas, you can't add that extra 52¢? I never do that anyway, because it's bad for your car. I used to do it to make the dollar value even, but I was told that by doing that I ruined my fuel sensor and can harm the filter.

EXACTLY!

Watch your freedom slowly disappear people.

I'm all for getting cell phones out of driver's hands. But a no top off law? What BS!

Next they will tell you, you can ONLY fart on the second day of the week if you last name begins A-K and the third day of the week if your last name begins L-Z.

The reson being TOO many human farts are adding to global warming.
