No Cat.?

Would i get a engine code if i was to "disable" the cat in a more then likely illegal way (cut it open, gut it, run straight pipe thrue it, weld it back up)..

We dont have emissions test here in Alberta... so why not would be my second questions?

As long as it looks like theres a cat there in the even that a cop MIGHT actually want to get dirty and look under my car...

There's more than one person around that just runs a straight pipe there instead of the cat. Some later years are different in their O2 sensors, and might be difficult. In your case, I would put in an O2 simulator and not worry about it.

the only problem you would run into, is the O2 sensor that's behind the cat. Since it will be running richer than with the restrictive cat, it may MAY may throw a code. but you can just take the code out of your PCM or get the O2 simulator like suggested.

Aright then, so basicly, the car will run perfectly fine, might just have an anoying light on in the dash...

doing that and adding the u-bend delete, would i notice any difference? mpg? performance?

i just have a lil 3.4l :(

I'm sure you'll notice a difference, but nothing dramatic.

The constant warning light would bug the hell out of me. I'd go with the O2 simulator and just be done with it. Also, if you have the stock sound system, you'll have the warning bell annoying you upon start up in addition to the message lit up in the message center.

Yeah i got stock deck.. im actually replacing that with 04 one (got it for 25$) mine is pretty warn out, looks like s..t... 60$ at the dealer to get ir reprogramed...

How much does a o2 simulator cost?
