The next Monte Carlo?
For it to be a real Monte Carlo I want to see the Knights crest on the front grill! And then the SS badges on the sides and back like the 6th gen ones!
I doubt a production version would have the 5 point harness...
My favorite version so far was the one with the solid silver bowtie in front...thats not to say i wouldn't drive any of them!

I guess I don't agree with the "Iconic" look of the Monte Carlo. You can't tell me that the "Lumina" 5th gen Monte looks ANYTHING like the previous 4 gen's of Montes! And the 6th gen is totally different yet, other than being FWD. Were the 1st 4 gens FWD?
And no, I don't feel that my Monte is luxurious. It's every bit as sporty riding as a Camaro, but FWD. Nothing SMOOTH about the ride. It's stiff and responsive, the way I like it. If you want plush, buy a Buick or a Cadillac. Bouncy, bouncy ride. Hit a bump and bottom out the suspension. Push them thru a corner and you lose them.
My interior is all plastic. Anyone got any wood or leather in theirs, except the main seating surface? There is nothing on my Monte that resembles anything previous, except the badging SAYING that it's a Monte Carlo. No it's not a coupe. GREAT! Coupes suck. What's more valuable, a '57 4 door, 2 door post, or a 2 door hardtop? And growing up with 2 door hardtops, I would like to see another one again.
Bring it Holden.

One of the arguments that killed the "new" GTO was the complaint from the purists that said it didn't look like the old GTO's. They said it looked like a 2004 grand am on steroids. They refused to be open to any kind of change. They demanded that any car with the name GTO, at any time in the future, MUST look like the original GTO's from the late 60's. No ifs, ands, or buts.
The other argument was that it was an Australian car adapted for American use, and not a true American muscle car.
One thing about life is change. Things are always changing. And so has the Monte Carlo over the years since 1971. In no way does the original 1971 Monte look like a 5th or 6th or 7th gen Monte.
The original picture on page 1 of this thread is a Holden concept car. Designed by and for Holden Motors. They never intended it to be any kind of GM concept car.
The email conversation was about turning a Holden 4 door into a 2 door Monte. Holden replied that we might have an easier time taking a concept car of theirs that was already 2 doors, and going from there.
We've been having a little fun just fantasizing about turning the Holden into a future Monte. What's the harm in fantasizing a little? Who says we HAVE to make a new Monte look like any of the previous generations?
The idea is to have fun and fantasize about what you would like to see it look like. You can even make a huge-a$$ blower come out of the hood if you like. The idea is to make a Monte that YOU like. Not something that conforms to Chevrolet's standards.
If it was up to Chevrolet, a new Monte would be an electric car the size of a freakin shoebox.
Just my humble opinion.
I feel better now.
Thanks for reading!
LOL.
P.S. I wasn't yelling at you Wayne. Or any one person specifically. So don't take this post personally.
