I fixed the Tucson a few months ago, had a broken timing belt that had been replaced about 15k miles prior. I got lucky though, it's an interference engine, but I put the old belt back on it and it fired right up and runs just fine. Replaced the belt with a brand new OEM Hyundai belt and have been driving it daily ever since.
Wow, that is lucky!

Didn't they make a panel with the turbo LNF ecotec towards the end of the run? Id bet that would be even more peppy than a 3.4. Lots of aftermarket for that engine too.
Interesting subject. Last year we purchased a 2020 Blazer SUV, Me I wanted a Camaro or maybe an Impala if we had to have 4doors. So we had a Pontiac Torrent 2006, with 114K on it and I had to do the head gaskets on it and the mileage was horrible for a small thing it did as good as the big full size SUV could have had a Suburban.
the wife aka Mrs. Bickerson who is always right! Indicated we need to look at something different. so a few trip to some Chevy dealers to see what was out there. The choice was a Blazer in (RED HOT RED) we are retied now and front wheel drive is all we needed. This has some nice room in it, we have a 2013 Equinox and it has some nice room in it.
I had to go out of town to get the Blazer bought and the local dealership has unfriended me on Facebook now, Lol
But we love the Blazer.
So I get alot of questions about is this a Dale version? I don't know why they ask that? lol

The Blazer is definitely on our short list for the Edge replacement. I really like the look and would be happy to move back to a GM product again for our next SUV.
My big concern with the Blazer today is inventory. I dunno if they're selling super fast or if they've been hit hard by the chip shortage, but our big local dealer has literally 0 today (I just checked their online inventory as they do sometimes seem to have 1 or 2 sitting out front when I drive by). Theyve probably got 50 Traxs and probably the same amount combined between Equinox and Traverse, but they always seem to be at or near 0 on Blazers.
Curious what engine did you go with and if you'd choose the same again?
We'd be looking between the turbo 4 or the V6. We've got the turbo 4 in our Edge and I'm kind of 50/50 on it. Gas mileage is excellent and WOT power is good, its everything else thats meh. I find myself either downshifting the car manually (to pass on a 2 lane highway) or brake boosting (if pulling out onto a fast/busy road from a dead stop) because the engine is completely dead until that turbo really gets moving.
The more I think about it, the more your choice to go with the simplest (lack of) options makes sense.
Yeah, we have a big car to haul the family on a big trip, that car has bells and whistles and is super comfortable and roomy. I have my Camaro which has its dedicated fun, speed, car show title now. So for just running around the neighborhood... I don't need much. And this was $14k all in brand new. Just posted a new thread with pictures.

This has the Turbo 4 in it the gas mileage is great and the get up and go is like Warp factor nine when you hit the but it will screech the tires, Right now I am at my Daughters house in Colorado and my son has been along we were in Denver and in the hilly area around Castle Rock and it is a go. I been telling him to lighten up on the pedal. Lol.
I love the thing it has extra room, like our 2013 Equinox. When they dropped the Equinox size down a shade it isn't got the seating room.
A week or so ago I was in a store and they picked it up on a Camera and asked me about the 3 and the fender slash if it was a Factory thing.
You may want to check AutoTrader to find one and then make sure it is at a Chevy dealer and your dealer can get it for you.

I was really surprised with the Equinox. We had one for a rental on our trip home last year and this latest redesign is really tiny now. It just feels like a slightly lifted car. Also seems to be more poorly finished / cheaper built IMO.
I guess I do understand to a poin. - they're shifting most of their car focus to SUVs so they've got to have some differentiating factor between models.
