Motor Trend Stages 'World's Greatest Drag Race'
$2 million worth of supercars on an airstrip; there can be only one winner.

Every once in awhile we feature a cool drag-race video here. Some are straight, head-to-head competitions among peers; some are more outlandish, in the vein of the "hawk versus tiger" videos your weird cousin sends you.
This one is both outlandish and straight competition: 11 amazing performance machines and supercars pitted against one another in a straight-shot, quarter-mile drag race as put together by Motor Trend. Why did they put it together? Because they can.
Oh, right -- also because it was part of the magazine's(Click~> test to find the best driver's car from model year 2011. Check out the competitors, below, with the video and drag-race winner -- as well as best driver's car winner, since they're not one and the same -- posted after the jump.
Nissan GT-R: 530 horsepower, 448 lb-ft of torque
Ferrari 458 Italia: 557 horsepower, 398 lb-ft of torque
Audi R8 GT: 560 horsepower, 398 lb-ft of torque
Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG: 563 horsepower, 479 lb-ft of torque
Lexus LFA: 552 horsepower, 354 lb-ft of torque
Chevrolet Corvette Z06/Z07: 505 horsepower, 470 lb-ft of torque
Porsche 911 GT3 RS: 450 horsepower, 317 lb-ft of torque
Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca: 444 horsepower, 380 lb-ft of torque
Porsche Cayman R: 330 horsepower, 273 lb-ft of torque
BMW 1 Series M: 335 horsepower, 369 lb-ft of torque with overboost included

I was impressed with the Boss 302 how close behind the other much lighter and much more powerful cars it was. I was also dissapointed with the M1 which is a secret love of mine.
Yes Lou, but J.J. drove 2 slow & it took 4ever to get to where we wanted to be ~> You always drive with the pedal to the metal & it's more fun when U R driving...OK, I violated another rule & I'll put myself in Time Out & give everyone a break : )
