Jesus... like a few have said, looking at the pic kinda put things in perspective... Glad you guys are ok... it must of hit pretty damn hard!

They need to figure out some kind of airbag system in the belt to spread the impact area a lil bit more hehe..

Thats one hell of a mark, but it also makes you think of what could happen to someone if they're not wearing it.. (makes you think you were an idiot for not wearing it back in the day when you thought you were invincible and that kinda stuff wouldnt/couldnt happen to you)

Default glad you weren't hurt more.......

......Like others have been saying....Glad you weren't hurt anymore
than that. I know seat-belts can be aggrevating for some people
but in this case, it kept you from getting seriously injured....

JJ, sorry to read about your accident.

I'm glad you were able to come home and not more seriously injured. Either of you.

Please get well.

I'm guessing that Lisa was the passenger, and you were hit in the passenger side. The marks on Lisa's neck are FROM the seat belt, right? Look how and where they are. That's a seat belt rash.

That mark on here neck was from the seatbelts. f she had not been wearing it, she would have been thrown out the front of the van.

Lisa and I seem to think that God had sent an Angel just at the last moment and kept the van from rolling over. Even the Paramedic was shocked that it didnt roll.

I had a big green Dodge van left turn into me on I-94 about 7 yrs ago. I was doing about 78 mph in an '01 Impala. I ended up spinning and went off the road and totalled the bottom side of the Impala. The driver of the van didn't do as well. I was up close and personal as he was doing barrel rolls sideways down I-94 at about 70 mph. He barrel rolled probably 10 or 12 times and ended up on it's side in the median. They back boarded him from the van. I walked away.
THAT'S why I will NEVER drive something tall EVER again as a daily driver. I have seen WAY too many Excursions, Expeditions, and Escalades that have rolled. "I'm big and tall and safe!" BS!
JJ, God was definately with you in giving the both of you minor injuries only. Be thankful and count your blessings. I am SO glad your boy wasn't with you.
I totalled a 2nd '01 Impala also. I had the flu, was dehydrated, passed out on cruise, crossed the road, through a corn field, jumped a cross road, hit a tree AND a telephone pole. I was only a few feet away from hitting an old brick farm house head on. My Impala was REAL skinny, but not totaled from the front. I had a guardian angel on that one BIG time! I was backboarded from that wreck, but walked out of the hospital the next day. Those 2 wrecks convinced me that the structural integrity of the Impalas & Monte Carlos was a life saver to me. After buying my Dad his '97 LeSabre, I didn't have the real need for a 4 door car, so that's when I went to the Monte Carlos again. (I had a red '95 LS for a brief time).

Buy another late model Monte Carlo OR an Impala. I trust my life to them, and I drive a LOT of miles a year. The magnesium structure behind the dash was a life saver for me. God was your life saver this time.
