I remember those plastic models, and the fumes from the glue and the testors paint and my mom back then complaing I was killing braincells, and the house smelled like a meth lab 
.... Yep, she was correct about it all more so the braincell part ...
Anyhow many years later ...
I upgraded to the gas powered model ... I felt that the model building alone wasn't really as fun as i thought, i mean considering the time taken to build one and then paint it and then waiting for it to dry, and then just looking at it afterwards ( i mean i couldn't drive it or play with it because it was to fragile) ... anyhow I upgraded to something where I could build and drive and have fun ..

I mean I was building car models.
I could build one in a few hours time. Even have it painted.
My parents got mad cause I could build one so fast then the next time we went to the mall (back then Sears sold toys) I'd ask for a new model. They cost $5.
That's how I got the Charger, '71-74 Cuda, '71-74Challenger, Duster, Superbird, and'55, 56, 57 Chevy models I have.
At one time my nephew Rob said my mother promised my car models to him. I told him, "Good luck."
I mean I was building car models.

He is now my boss and the owner of my company.
