I just added a new 1/18th to my small collection.
A 1/18th version of my Monte. Like I mentioned in another thread. If I wanted a collector's car just to park it and stare at it once in a while, I'll buy the scale model.

Most of their model cars are NASCAR race cars, but I lucked out and they had Dale jr's street version car.

The model was made by Action Collectibles.

Something you might consider...
If you find a 1/18th Monte model that matches your car except for the color, either repaint it yourself or get a painter to spray it for you using exact color match paint for your car. Someone experienced with airbrushing would be perfect. When I worked at an autobody repair shop years ago, the owner would do this all the time. We would mask it off like we would a full size car, and the painter would respray it in the color of choice.

It was kinda cool knowing that his models had a professional basecoat/clearcoat paint job. You don't have to go quite that far. Simply mask off the unpainted areas, lightly sand the original paint to give the new paint a good surface to stick to, then spray it using color match paint. If you do it yourself, doa lot ofthin, even layers spraying smoothly and consistently from side to side across the entire length of the car. Don't put thick layers, since this will cause the paint topool up and run. Plus, thick layers will tend to fill in the cracks and lines that simulate the separation between body panels. Patience is key.

 

i'm not much of a painter, how much would that body shops charge to do a paint job on a car like that

 

you dun wanna know.. get an airbrush so you can control the mist.... a rattle can is going to spray much too heavy.

o theres several companies that make models of my monte, just not in that color. well, having a pretty rare color for that body style comes with its disadvantages. i was thinking about buying the Jeff Gordon edition replica from Action.

A plastic model you build yourself or a die cast model? I posted a company earlier in this thread that does die cast, but I couldn't find non-NASCAR plastic models. They don't seem to exist.
