Default My 95 Monte

This is a self built Monte Carlo me and my father designed.
Block - 1997 3.1
Crank Turned - .010/.010
Roller Heads - 1997 Pontiac
-Pocket Ported and Polished
Intake Manifold - 1995 3.1
-Ported and Polished
Air Box - 1995
-Spectre Air Filter
Throttle Body - 1995
-Ported 1inch and Polished
Roller Cam and Lifters - 1997 Pontiac
Hypertech Pistons -1997
-Chrome Molly Piston Rings
Ignition Module - 1996
Ignition Wiring - Accel
Computer Chip - 1995 OBD Oldsmobile Supreme
4T60E 423 Transmission - 1995 Oldsmobile
-Compression Increased by 50-100psi (Haven't tested just estimate)
Exhaust - Flow Master 10 Series

Haven't gotten it tuned yet.
Getting 30mpg in town and 40mpg on the highway.
0-60mph 12seconds - block rocks back hard when you gun it.

Adding Pontiac GT Ram Air Intake behind the grill here soon after some fab work.

I'm looking for more tips and tricks to get it to 0-60 in 10seconds or less and hopefully more gas mileage.

Also the Plastic Hose from the air duct to the back of the engine under the Coil Module blows off due to the amount of pressure inside the engine, any solutions to that as well.

My father owns a shop. He has about 10 3.1s from different years. We just put the best parts together and modified them. Also most people down the 3.1, but I prefer it over the 3.8 due to reliability. Since the base performance is virtually same once you tweak everything to the best specs. I've raced and beat a Manual 3.8 Firebird. With my automatic 3.1. He has a lot of money in his I've just got gaskets and time in mine. So why go with a 3.8 when a 3.1 will last longer and done rite out perform it with only stock parts?

I've replaced the PVC but it continues to blow off from the pressure. My 3.1 has way more pressure in it than designed so the little rubbed gaskets on them just don't seal well enough.

All that and your running 12 second 0-60's?

Thats an impressive 3.1 build, but my N/A 3.8 runs it in about 7.5-8.5 depending on the wieght.

Alot of people will PCV delete and somehow 're route that function for the higher compression. I know the turbo guys do it.

And actually I haven't checked my speeds since I put on the air filter and got that PVC hose on I got a wedge on it rite now and it looks bad to me at least because I notice it. I'm putting on the Ram Air Intake Duct in the coming weeks. So I'll check again after that.

I believe on the 3800's its acomplished by removing the PCV and then capping it and adding a breather or inline catch can. Also deleting codes from the PCM. 3100's cant be too diferent

And i just went from a 3400 to an l67 in my 97. I beat a BUNCH of 3.8s with the 3400, but after driving with the l67 ill never go back to 3x00s. You mite check into a 3400 topswap.
