I noticed that there's alot of creative people on mcf. Music has been a huge part of life for me, so I was wondering how many of you play an instrument or sing? Even if its just in the basement by yourself for fun, packing bars on the weekends with a band, whatever. I sing in a regular gigging band, and sing while playing guitar in a start-up. What about you all?

 

I played the french horn in the school band for 8 years

 

I studied classical piano and composition for ten years. Does that count?

 

I use to play bass back when i was 15/16 then life hit me lol i got too busy. I have an electric guitar now but I'm horrible at it now.

 

I play bass. I have yet to join a band but I have seriously considering it. I just can't find the time right now.

I play upright bass, cello, viola, and violin on a college level. I regularly play guitar and bass in my music room. And I go to school for Audio Engineering and Technical Theatre at Clemson University. I am always doing something music related. Last weekend, my senior Performing Arts class put on a 4-day BluesFest and We had 8 sound guys working every night. We took turns mixing monitors and running the boards. I work in a theatre and work in every field. Sound, lights, rigging, design, tech direction, etc. I love it.

 

I have worked as a DJ and MC professionally since 1992. I have worked everything from small private events to big national concerts and I have done spring break several times.

 

Yup i started a band!
Its a hardcore rock band called Blue Sun at Midnight.
I started it by learning guitar on my own and write my own music/lyrics
Then a recruited a drummer, bassist ect.
We play a few shows around albany.
i do main vocals and write the tunes, plus a bit of guitar
