Good morning guys, -6 degrees this morning.
We had a meteor come in over Metro Detroit about 8:10 pm last night, confirmed by NWS. I was playing with the puppy and I heard and slightly felt it (what sounded like a loud, long-duration thunder) and at the time I had no clue what it was until my sister texted me about 45 min later and then I saw it all over Facebook. Numerous people said they heard/saw/felt it. USGS confirmed it caused a 2.0 magnitude earthquake and was centered over Macomb County, MI. Could be seen from six states and Canada.

Good morning guys. Foggy morning, 35 degrees.
Yesterday was the first day the Detroit Auto Show was open to the public and we got there first thing in the morning and then had brunch Downtown. I posted some of my pics in another thread in the off topic section.

Good morning everyone hope all is well. Yesterday we enjoyed a Blizzard here in the Central Plains.
My wife aka Mrs. Bickerson ( who knows it all! the main reason I sold all the encyclopedias years ago) was traveling into western Nebraska about 6 hours drive she said, to Chadron, NE. Then left Sunday to return home with 2 other passengers, in the snow storm driving sometimes only 35 mph. I am trying to rationalize why she wanted to make the drive in the snow storm as I told her how dangerous that was and she didn't have to be anywhere, nor did her passengers. If they would have slid into a ditch there wasn't any of them that could have walked very far to get help or even call for assistance this is a remote area to drive thru might be one wrecker in a 100 miles. My guess is that I told her not to travel? Anyway they made it to one of the passengers home which is normally 3 hours away, it was now a 7 hour trip. Lucky for her she was stuck in the gals driveway after she got there. So today all that stuff has moved off to the east and should be clear here. She should be home this morning sometime.

Good afternoon all. Another doom and gloom day, 39 degrees now with scattered rain. Warm day yesterday, made it up to 55 degrees.
Overnight, a 7.9 mag earthquake hit Alaska, centered in the ocean about 350 miles south of Anchorage. All tsunami warnings/watches have been cancelled for the U.S. West Coast.

Good afternoon guys.
I have to share this pic I took while in Detroit for the Auto Show. After the Show we did brunch Downtown and then stopped in the Guardian Building for a coffee and to 'admire' this beautiful structure. This is the original 'banking hall'. Stuff like this exists in Detroit and, if you visit, you have to do some exploring.
