Default The Monte Carlo visits Richmond International Raceway!!! (pics, video)

Just like last month whne the Torino visited Richmond... only this month, the fresh paint on the Monte Carlo took a ride around Richmond!!!!

The Camaro club of Richmond invaded this place... there were tons of them there!! And they all beat me to the line to get pictures in victory lane. So here are all my picture.s

There was also a '69 Torino there... white and black. Another Monte Carlo of the 71 variety visited and ran the track at the same time I did.

It was pretty cool. This paint job really makes me proud of my Monte Carlo again... enough to wear my Chevrolet t-shirt!!! And be proud of all those bow ties winning out there!!!

First off..... here is the video.

Very Cooooooool...... I'd love to drive that track...... How high did the banks feel?... I have always heard that the banking is much more severe than it looks like on TV...

Well it is more severe... but maybe where I ran Charlotte in Thanksgiving that was really severe and I feel more "used" to it.

Richmond is steep enough that if you touch the apron with your left side tires, it pulls your wheels and makes your car turn harder.... makes you "loose." It's steeper than it looks for certain. And actually, the faster you can go, the more comfortable the banking feels to your car.. .. too slow and your car wants to just dive to teh apron and you have to turn right to stay on it.

Looks like fun. The Camaro club there seems to be like most of them. Mostly 4th, 5th, and 1st gens. I really need to get mine finished and get it out there and start repping the 2nd gens.

Looks like fun!

I live about 65 miles from Kentucky Speedway (Quaker State 400 June 30th) and got to do a lap on my old Harley about 4 years ago. I will have to go back there sometime.
