The Monte Carlo as a Race car
So I was being the NASCAR history nerd today and watching the 1979 World 600 on Youtube... so if you go to 12:00 on this video, Darrell Waltrip shares his thoughts on the Monte Carlo...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7jXnqKjKXE
He basically talks about how he hopes that if there is ever a car better than the Monte Carlo, that he wants to drive it... its comfortable, easy to set up, easily adaptable... and that althought it wasn't the best aeredynamically or horsepower wise, it was the most well balanced car around and he loved racing it.
Just thought all the 3rd and 4th gen guys would like to hear that!

They mention how the Fords could "suck up" in a draft better than all the other cars though.... they could save their equipment and fuel...
Just like a Ford.. riding a Chevrolets coat tails to success...

Man Darrell usually drives me & my dad insane with all of his bs talk about the toyotas but he earned a bit of my respect back now. Monte Carlos to me will always be the best on the track. At the tracks I raced at with the 86 people loved that it still looked like the classic monte carlo instead of having the cheaper sheet metal on it to where you couldn't tell what kind of car it was
